Winnipeggers' manners extended Rend Collective's Folk! Tour on Thursday night.

While MyChurch Winnipeg was filled with the expected joyful sound of Rend Collective music, such as "Build Your Kingdom," "Good News," and "I Will Be Undignified," the group also shared some slower, powerful songs, including "Weep With Me."

Chris Llewellyn from Rend Collective shared that while the group loves leading joyful upbeat worship, that isn't always the situation that we find ourselves in.

The group played the popular "My Lighthouse" at the end of the show to fans jumping and dancing in the crowd.

Following "My Lighthouse," the band said goodnight, but fans weren't done listening.

A loud, "One more song" chant quickly changed into a "One more song, please" chant. Llewellyn said they had to come back because this was the first time he had an encore chant with please in it.

The encore lasted a few songs and included Rend Collective's version of "Oceans."

Fans also heard a sneak peak at some new songs, hours before the release of Folk! Part Two.

The band shared on social media saying, "Folk music literally means 'people music'. This music is for US. The ones who prefer a campfire singalong to a stadium show. The ones who prefer something rough, ready and real to something polished and pristine. The ones who are tired of watching a performance and just want to be a part of a celebration."

They said that everything on the album was done on purpose. "We intentionally made inconvenient decisions like choosing not to rely on studio tricks and pre-recorded samples because we want you to feel the humanity of this music - as well as the sacredness of the God we worship," the Instagram post said.

"God is good and of course, He meets us in the spectacular, high-budget, flashing lights of modern worship. But we just want to offer something different. Maybe you’re longing for a more touchable, tangible connection with God and your people. If so, Folk was made for you."

Rend Collective continues the Folk! Tour with a stop in Saskatoon, Sask. Friday night.
