We here at CochraneNow are dino crazy. We were all very sad to hear that Tyra the T-Rex will be closing at the end of 2029 so we want to pay our respects. Check out the eulogy below and sign the petition to bring Tyra to Cochrane!

Ladies and gentlemen, friends, fellow dinosaur enthusiasts, and anyone who’s ever had their mind blown by the sheer size of Tyra, the world’s largest T. rex, we gather here today not to mourn, but to celebrate the life and legacy of this colossal creature.

Tyra, the queen of Drumheller, the apex predator of her time, has been strutting her stuff in downtown Drumheller, showing us all what it means to be extra. She was the one who could’ve easily stolen the spotlight from any other T. rex, and let’s face it, she definitely would have eaten any competition for breakfast. If Tyra had Instagram, she'd be posting selfies like, “Just crushing it #TyrantKing #BiggestInTheGame #ChillinWithMyBones.” And if there was ever a T. rex who could pull off a side-eye while simultaneously looking majestic and terrifying, it was Tyra.

But alas, as we know, every prehistoric legend must eventually be laid to rest. In 2029, Tyra will be closing her massive jaws, ready to retire from the spotlight. We will all gather around, wiping our tears, as the mighty T. rex is ushered into the next chapter, or possibly just a very large storage closet somewhere—where she'll probably be stuffing her face with whatever fossilized snacks she can find.

The End of an Era in Drumheller: Tyra the Dinosaur’s Closure

But, before we let out a collective roar of sadness, let’s remember the good times. Tyra was the dinosaur equivalent of that one friend who shows up to a party, and suddenly, the whole room feels smaller because they’re just so damn impressive. She didn’t need to say a word—her size and presence were enough to let everyone know who was in charge.

So, here’s to Tyra. May her bones forever stand tall in Drumheller, as a reminder of just how big dreams (and dinosaurs) can get. Rest in peace, Tyra. And, while we’re sad to see you go, we all know that you’re just going to eat up whatever comes next.

You could change the future of our prehistoric friend by signing this petition to relocate Tyra to Cochrane.
