The Carman Cubs, & Scouts embarked on a recent adventure -- geocaching. Led by Eric Melvin, the group learned how to use GPS devices to find hidden treasures. "We taught the kids how the GPS works, and then we went on a hike to find the cache," says Melvin. They ventured along the river trail, where the children worked together to solve clues and find the geocache. “It was awesome to see how excited the kids were when they finally found the hidden treasure,” Melvin adds. It wasn’t just about the destination; it was about the teamwork, problem-solving, and excitement along the way.
Beavers enjoy a town hike and a treat
Meanwhile, the Beavers enjoyed a different adventure of their own. Melvin shares, “The Beavers went on a hike around town and ended their adventure with a treat at Tim Hortons." The younger group had fun exploring the local area before celebrating their successful hike with a delicious snack. “It’s a great way to get outside and enjoy the nice weather,” says Melvin, reflecting on how the Beavers enjoyed both the outdoor exercise and the well-earned treat.
With the weather improving, the Carman Beavers, Cubs & Scouts are excited to get out and experience more outdoor activities. "We’ve got a lot of exciting things planned," shares Melvin. "Camping trips, canoeing, fishing—there’s so much fun ahead." The group is eager to take full advantage of the warmer months, with even more opportunities for adventure and learning outdoors.
Looking for new members
The Carman Beavers, Cubs & Scouts are always looking to welcome new members. "We’d love to have more kids join us," states Melvin. "If you’re looking for a fun way to get outside, make new friends, and learn new skills, we’d be thrilled to have you.” Whether you’re a young adventurer or a parent looking to get involved, the Carman Beavers, Cubs & Scouts provide an environment of fun, learning, and outdoor exploration.
