The annual contest in Okotoks will once again have people guessing when a massive snow pile will melt.

Okotoks Mayor Tanya Thorn has been hosting a snow pile melt contest for several years, with locals encouraged to pick the exact day they think the town's snow pile will melt.

The pile is located just south of Meadowridge School on 32 Street, and the person who picks the correct day the pile will be fully melted will win a prize.

According to Mayor Thorn, the snow pile was completely melted by April 26 last year.

"But, in 2018, the official melt day was July 9, so we've seen the gamete between April to middle of July since I've started," Mayor Thorn explains

To enter the contest, simply head over to Mayor Tanya Thorn's Facebook or Instagram post about the snow pile and comment the date you think the snow pile will be completely gone.

Just make sure you comment by March 31 to make the guess count.

The person who picks the correct date will win a prize from the Mayor.

"It's a $50 gift card for a local business of their choosing. Somewhere where they love to shop, whether that's for coffee or clothes or books or whatever suits their fancy. I think last year I got somebody a gift certificate at Ghost Town Tattoo."

Make sure to add your guess soon, because there are already almost 100 guesses on Mayor Thorn's Facebook page alone.
