Even though the weather may not seem like it, Spring is in full swing, and there is fun to be had in Okotoks this weekend.
Here is what's happening around town this weekend:
Friday, March 28:
This week's Town of Okotoks Nature Friday's event is spring-themed, and the little ones will learn why flowers bloom, how plants grow, and what changes happen in nature at this time of year from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Okotoks Junior High School will be performing Beauty and the Beast, with the curtain call at 7 p.m.
Saturday, March 29:
The Okotoks Public Library is hosting a Coding Club from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., where kids between 8 and 12 will learn about coding.
The Town of Okotoks is hosting a Repair Cafe from 12 to 4 p.m., and people can bring broken items to be repaired.
From 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., the Okotoks Public Library, they are hosting a teen art club, which teaches teens new techniques, mediums, and styles each month.
The Public Library will also be hosting a Miniature Painting course, which is for anyone interested in learning about tabletop miniature painting.
Disney fans rejoice, because the Okotoks Skating Club will be presenting the Little Mermaid on Ice at Murray Arena at the Okotoks Rec Centre, with performances at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The Okotoks Junior High School will be performing Beauty and the Beast at 7 p.m.
Over at the Viking Rentals Centre, the Okotoks Oilers will be taking on the boys from Brooks, with the puck being dropped at 7:05 p.m.
The Okotoks Elks Club is hosting their meat draws and a perogy lunch at noon.
As usual, the Sheep River parkrun is happening at Sheep River Park at 9 a.m., and people are able to walk, run, jog, or volunteer.
Sunday, March 30:
There are Drop-in activities all day at the Rec Centre and the Viking Rentals Centre, which can be found here.
Moe Dog Rescue Mission will be hosting an adoption event at the Pet Valu in D'arcy from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
