A precautionary drinking water advisory is now in effect for the town of Midale. It was issued this morning by the Water Security Agency due to high turbidity entering the distribution system.
It is recommended that all water for drinking purposes be boiled, at a rolling boil, for at least one minute. This recommendation applies to water that would be used for other activities where it may be ingested, such as brushing teeth, ice cubes, or washing fruits and vegetables.
It is advised not to use the water for washing dishes unless the water has been boiled or will be sanitized in another fashion afterwards. As well, it is advised not to drink from any public drinking fountains that are supplied with the public water supply.
Under most circumstances, there isn’t a need to boil water for other household purposes, such as bathing for adults and teens, as well as doing laundry.
The precautionary drinking water advisory is in effect until further notice.
