A 27-year-old man is facing assault charges following a chaotic scene at a West End restaurant.
Officers were called to a restaurant at the corner Sherbrook Street and Notre Dame Avenue shortly after 7:45 p.m. on Friday, where they found a man causing a disturbance, destroying property and throwing various items at a 39-year-old staff member.
The man continued to throw things, even at the officers when they arrived. The man was not compliant during his arrest and police were forced to use their taser to safely take the suspect into custody.
The victims and suspect did not require medical attention.
A 27-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing several charges including mischief over $5,000, assault a peace officer x 2 and assault.
He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
