Winnipeg is set to welcome the 2025 Inspire Conference, a two-day event designed to empower students in grades 6-12 to overcome challenges and deepen their faith in Jesus.
Taking place on April 11-12, Inspire aims to equip young people with hope and purpose.
Alex Janzen is a conference manager with Inspire Our Nation. She says the conference is open not only to youth, but also to anyone who supports them.
"So whether that's a child that comes with their child or a youth group is bringing a whole crew, obviously the pastor and youth workers are welcome to come as well," said Janzen. "Teachers, if they're inviting their class to come, there will also be three workshop options for adult leaders."
As for students, Janzen says there will be 11 different workshops available and three main sessions.
"The three main sessions include presenters from across Canada," said Janzen. "That includes our main speaker, Shawn Naylor from Montreal, who works with YFC and has a powerful story sharing the power of the gospel and the hope of Jesus. And then we also have a hip-hop artist named Veshone from Toronto and a local worship band."
The event will also feature 14 students from their leadership program in Manitoba and a few from the program in Saskatchewan.
"It's a blessing to see them present, whether it's their story, a spoken word poem, dance, or different aspects," said Janzen.
One of the students presenting is Roe Dembele, who will share her testimony at the conference.
"I know my story will resonate with other people, and I hope that even if it's only one person, that God would be softening people's hearts and it would make people feel seen, cause I know for me when I hear other people's testimonies, I really see myself in that."
She encourages everyone, even those who may be nervous, to attend.
"I think that if you come alone, you'll for sure leave with a friend," said Dembele. "I think it will be a great space to make friends and connect with other people. It's going to be so great."
Inspire 2025 will happen April 11 and 12 at 745 Kapelus Drive.
