The prize includes tickets to a Calgary Flames game and accommodations. It's pretty cool.
It reminds me of a similar prize we gave away about 35 years ago. It was a trip to Calgary for a Flames playoff game against Wayne Gretzky and the LA Kings.
I got to host that trip and it was an elderly couple from the local area who won the prize.
We had a great time. I made sure they were looked after and even got clearance to take them downstairs after the game to meet a few of the players. It all had me thinking that I was kind of a big deal.
Well, about a week after the trip, the couple sent the manager at the radio station a thank you card.
And they noted, "Dale Carnegie was a wonderful host."
That bruised my ego...permanently.
