The Encore Art Sale is just around the corner, featuring a diverse collection of pieces from talented Central Alberta-based artists in support of the Lacombe Arts Endowment Fund.

The event features a range of art, such as fibre, stained glass, wood, metals, paintings, ceramics, music, and photography from 34 artists at the Lacombe Memorial Centre (LMC).

“We have a really good variety of artists and artwork for people to see and enjoy,” Maureen MacKenzie, City of Lacombe Arts & Culture/Cemetery Coordinator.

The sale kicks off on April 11 at 1 p.m., followed by a Feature Artist Talk by Vicki Sullivan at 2 p.m., and a sip and shop at 6 p.m., before wrapping up at 8 p.m.

The event continues April 12 at 11 a.m., followed by a Feature Artist Talk at 2 p.m., a sip and shop at 3 p.m., and the Art Endowment Award and Student Art Award Presentations at 4 p.m., before coming to a close at 5 p.m.

Through the Parallax Energy partnership, admission is by donation to support the Lacombe Arts Endowment Fund.

The sale has become a staple event for the community.

“It's typically the first art exhibit and sale of the year in Central Alberta so it's something that people look forward to every year,” MacKenzie said. “We get the same feedback from the artists too. We like to treat our artists like gold, and we make sure that they're treated well and having an enjoyable time.”
