Legendary guitarist Oscar Lopez is set to light up Cochrane with his signature Latin rhythms and electrifying energy.
The two-time Juno Award winner will perform at the Cochrane RancheHouse on May 31, 2025, at 8 p.m.
Lopez, known for his passionate playing and improvisational style, says he is thrilled to bring his show, "Ahora o Nunca," to town.
"I'm a people's guitar player. My shows are all about connection, energy, and surprises."
Born in Chile, Lopez recorded his first vinyl record at just 17 years old before moving to Canada in 1979. He worked various jobs, including as a janitor, before his musical career took off again. "Music is my gift, and I feel blessed to share it with the world."
With 10 albums to his name and a career spanning decades, Lopez has performed around the world, blending Latin, jazz, and world music. "Music is a universal language. It has no colours, no politics, it's for everyone," he says.

After taking a two-year break from music, Lopez is back with a new single. "One night, I couldn't sleep, so I picked up my guitar and started playing. Music just came back to me."
Although he lives in Calgary, Cochrane holds a special place in Lopez’s heart. "I spend a lot of time here. It feels like home," he says.
Lopez promises an unforgettable night of music, improvisation, and connection. "Expect the unexpected. I don’t go in with a set plan, I just feel the moment and go with it."
