After putting up four goals, including a hat trick this past Friday, Drew Kuzma of the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings has been named the SJHL's Forward of the Week.

In the three games on the road, Kuzma notched five points, with four goals and an assist. So far this season the forward has picked up 15 points in 20 games.

"He doesn't have to be super physical, but separate guys from the puck and when he gets on the wrong side of guys, like on the wrong side of d-men in front of the net, he's real tough to handle, as we saw in La Ronge," said Red Wings head coach Cody Mapes during this week's edition of the Coach's Show.

Kuzma is in his second season with the Red Wings, appearing in five games last season before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

The other award winners this week were Nolan Doell of the La Ronge Ice Wolves/Melfort Mustangs (MVP), Rayce Ramsay of the Humboldt Broncos (goaltender), Tre Fouquette of the La Ronge Ice Wolves (defenceman) and Cash Arnsten of the Kindersley Klippers (rookie).
