The final day of the round robin at the BKT World Men’s Curling Championship got underway this morning at Temple Gardens Centre with teams jockeying for playoff spots.
Scotland and Sweden were on the ice, sitting at three losses each. While China and Norway were sitting on the bubble, coming in with four losses.
Scotland guaranteed their spot in the playoffs. They opened with three with the hammer and stole one in the fourth as they defeated Germany 6-1.
Italian skip Joel Retornaz made a split off his own guard for three in the eighth end. Retornaz wrecked on a guard in the ninth, giving Niklas Edin an open hit for three to take an 8-7 lead into the 10th end.
China scored two in the third end and stole three points in the fourth and fifth ends each for a 10-1 win over Korea.
Norway stayed at four losses with an 8-3 win over Austria.
Canada wraps up the round robin at 2 p.m. against Austria and 7 p.m. in front of a sold out crowd against the United States.
