The sun was shining for 'Hockey Day in Canada' at Okotoks Nissan on Saturday.

Hockey Night in Canada's Kelly Hrudey once again made a special appearance, cheering on the kids, chatting with hockey moms and dads, taking photos, and signing autographs.

Hrudey also brought along enough Hockey Night in Canada towels for all of the kids in the 4-on-4 ball hockey tournament.

The fun fundraiser had over 400 boxes of Cheerios and other cereals donated for the Okotoks Food Bank.

One of the teams, the Pink Flamingos, donated 419 boxes of cereal for the cause, with many others dropping off cash and other non-perishable goods.

The tourney was free to participate in and attend, with Kona's on site with their snow cones.

Thanks to local sponsor Pizzaberg Cafe, the kids and volunteers were able to enjoy some pizza.

Fix Auto in Okotoks also lent their support for the tournament.

Alyc Keith, GM of Okotoks Nissan, is hopeful they will host it again next year for their 3rd annual event.
