A City of Winnipeg employee is facing charges in connection to a crash that left a pedestrian with serious injuries.
On March 15, a 25-year-old woman was attempting to cross at Osborne Street and Mulvey Avenue when she was struck by a white van.
The vehicle continued driving down Osborne and a passerby who noticed the injured woman, called for help.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized for some time as a result.
An investigation identified the vehicle involved as a Ford Transit panel van registered to the City of Winnipeg.
Investigators were also able to identify the male driver as a City of Winnipeg employee.
On April 2, the driver walkedn into the police headquarters at 245 Smith Street and turned himself in to investigators.
He is now facing three charges in connection to the crash.
He was released by way of Appearance Notice as mandated by the Highway Traffic Act.
