The Weyburn Humane Society's 'Ride for Paws - Support the Cause' is back! This year they're selling raffle tickets for a 2025 Jeep Compass North 4x4, which they picked up just yesterday afternoon from Weyburn Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Ltd.

Board Chair Beverly Paul said they have 2,000 tickets available, each selling for $100 directly from the animal shelter, where the Jeep is currently parked.

"The raffle ends on August the 22nd at 6 p.m., but we do have two cash prizes as well that will be drawn at the same time as the vehicle one is for $3,000. The other one is for $2,000 and the winners of those draws will go back into the drum to be drawn as well for the vehicle if you happen to be lucky enough," she shared.

Paul said they are also going to be at as many events happening in Weyburn throughout the summer as they possibly can.

"There will be board members that will have tickets. If you need one right away, go to the shelter, they'll be available. But look for us at all these different events that are coming up all over the city."

Each of the draws will be made on August 23rd at 1 p.m. at Weyburn Dodge.

"It'd be nice to have a few people show up to see if they're the lucky ones. It's a gorgeous vehicle. I can't say enough good things about it. It's just beautiful."

"We'd really like to thank Jeff and James and their crew at Dodge. They've been very helpful and got us this vehicle in from North Battleford because we wanted a white one, so they kind of handpicked it for us. They're great to deal with. Lots of fun. They've already promised they're going to help us out as much as they can."

"The Humane Society is definitely a great cause here in and around Weyburn, we love to get behind many community events and we're very excited to be behind this one this year," said co-owner of Weyburn Dodge, Jeff Tosczak.

"We're going to be helping out as much as we can, with our online stuff, Facebook, all that, helping promote it, helping them to sell more tickets, and of course, we've got some other things in mind that we're going to do to help them along the way, too."

Tosczak noted he has two cats.

James Bell, the other co-owner of Weyburn Dodge, has three dogs and one cat. He said they're helping out because they love animals.

"Everybody here does. Connie has a little puppy she brought to work. We've got a dog in the back shop right now, an English springer spaniel, that one of our mechanics is brought to work."
