The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings took a commanding lead in the semi-final series against the Flin Flon Bombers, winning games one and two in Flin Flon over the weekend. The series will continue tonight and tomorrow here in Weyburn.
Sales and marketing director of the Weyburn Red Wings, Ryder Burns, explains the fan experience planned for the upcomng home games.
“Game three is sponsored by Completely Branded with a $7,000 guaranteed 50-50 and then they also made some limited-edition playoff shirts that we're going to be shooting out during the game and giving away an exclusive sweater during an intermission in a musical chairs game.”
“Game four we have Authority Oil Field guaranteeing a $10,000 50-50. So there's a lot of money to be won at both games and there should be hopefully wins at both games too to secure the series but we'll see I guess.”
Their Hat Trick Giveaway will be continuing, selling tickets for a Weyburn Red Wings wrapped golf cart, Two Gold Zone Country Thunder Tickets, and a Red Wings fire pit with a 2025/26 season flex pack.
They also have their season ticket sales going with $40 off their flex packs and 28 game punch packs for the 2025-26 season.
“The first round was $20 off, second round $40 off, and then third round $60 off but it's only for during the playoffs so it's an exclusive deal just for playoffs.”
The first intermission at game three will also see some other Weyburn hockey champions acknowledged.
“There's four teams, the U18 AA Gold Wings, the U15 Dodge Wings, the U11 Wings, and the U9 Quality Plumbing Red Wings. They all won championships so we're going to have them in the first intermission come on the ice and kind of showcase off their banner, their trophy, and just give them some recognition for their wins.”
While tickets to the games are available at the door, Burns encourages fans to get them ahead of time.
“It just helps the lines as people don't like waiting in lines and then they don't have to miss some of the game because with over a thousand people coming to the door it's a lot easier to get everyone through when they pre-buy tickets so especially with it being a playoff game it's been really full every night.”
Tickets can be purchased at the Red Wings office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by calling 306-842-2212.
