Red Deer Downtown Business Association (DBA) launched its new Gift Card to drive foot traffic and increase economic vibrancy downtown at the Alberta Food & Beverage Expo, this past Saturday.
The new Downtown Red Deer Gift Card can be spent with a wide variety of participating businesses downtown including services, retail and hospitality. Cards can be purchased online with delivery direct to the recipient and in person.
Amanda Gould the CEO of the DBA says the new Gift Card will encourage recipients to experience all that downtown has to offer:
“I often say that downtown Red Deer is like a mall without a roof; it’s a destination where you can do everything, from shopping to eating out to health and beauty. Downtown is vibrant and culturally diverse with many unique independent businesses to explore plus Red Deer’s entertainment district where people can stay awhile and enjoy the events at Ross Street Patio. Our new Gift Card gives people the chance to experience it all through one Gift Card.
“Having our own Gift Card is also a great unifier for downtown. Many of our downtown businesses are independent businesses and may not have the monetary resources to develop their own Gift Card but by participating in the Downtown Red Deer Gift Card they can collaborate with other businesses and showcase all we have to offer. The Gift Card will drive tourism and will also be ideal for organizations to use as gifts for employees – locking spend into Red Deer and giving a tangible boost to our local economy.”
The Downtown Red Deer Gift Card is issued by Peoples Trust Company, part of Peoples Group. Funds are not insured by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC).
