The fourth annual Props & Pistons Show & Shine will take place at the Red Deer Regional Airport on Saturday, May 31.
This year marks the third time the show has been held as a standalone event. It was also part of the airshow in 2023.
"We anticipate a full line-up of vehicle displays from Red Deer Cruise Night. They’re helping us by putting together all of the cars in the car show displays coming on-site, as well as a line-up of aircraft," said Nancy Paish, CEO of the Red Deer Regional Airport.
Organizers hope to attract at least 150 classic vehicles and 40 to 50 aircraft, including water bombers flown by Air Spray.
The Props & Pistons Show & Shine will take place on Apron 2.
Paish says registrations are still being accepted for both vehicles and aircraft.
Tickets for the public will go on sale at the beginning of May, costing only $5, with proceeds supporting local charities, including the Springbrook Community Association, which is hosting a drive-in movie on Friday, May 30. Gates will open at 8 p.m., with the movie starting at dusk.
Other organizations to benefit include the Harbour Historical Aviation Society, Red Deer Cruise Night, and the Red Deer Food Bank.
Day two of the event kicks off at 10 a.m. with the vehicle show and shine, vendors, food trucks and kid zone. Children under 10 are free.
Thousands of people are expected to attend.
