Ted was born on May 29, 1937 in Portage la Prairie, Mb to Annie and William Pongoski. He married Noreen Owens on July 5, 1958, and they had 2 children, Marjorie Diane in 1962 and Brett Owen in 1964. Dad started out as a cook at Southport working with his brother George in the mess hall. He then became a mechanic and the rest as they say, is history.

He was a great Dad and Grandfather. He loved to spend time camping with us as a family when we were younger, then he and mom still enjoyed camping after we had grown and started our own families. We also would take our families and go camping with them. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. And he never turned down the opportunity to enjoy a wiener roast.

A celebration of Ted’s life will take place at the Herman Prior Activity Centre on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm. A private family interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made in Ted’s memory to Sunset Palliative Care or the Herman Prior Activity Centre.

A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.
