A great showing from Weyburn Comprehensive School students taking part in the provincial Skills Competition held Friday in Saskatoon.
Coached by teachers Leah Beam, Cody Paterson, Colton Lund, Will Gilmore, and Wilf Lendrum, the Weyburn Skills Team spent many hours preparing to compete.
"We competed against students from all over the province in categories such as Carpentry, Electrical Installations, Welding, Video Production, Mechanical Engineering CAD, and Hairstyling Braiding and Bridal," shared Leah Beam.
"Every competitor gave the most effort, learned so much and had the most amazing experience."
Niegel Zagada brought home a Silver medal in Mechanical Engineering CAD; Olena Shved won the Silver medal in Hairstyling Braiding as well as a Gold Medal in Hairstyling Bridal.

Other competitors included Andrew Bratrud, competing in Mechanical CAD, Alex Paskiewicz and Jayden Stang in Video Production, Maddox Taillon in Electrical Installations, Brody Walter in Carpentry, as well as Corbin Harris and Jacob Tollefson in Welding.
