Despite finding a way to break through the Penticton Vees' defence, the Okotoks Oilers suffered a third loss in the opening round of the BCHL playoffs on Tuesday, April 8.

The Oilers had the home-ice advantage in Game 3 following two prior shutout defeats in Penticton.

The Vees had a 2-0 lead just over five minutes into the first period, with two power-play goals in the second increasing their lead to 4-0.

The Oilers rallied near the end of the period though, with captain Jackson Rowland notching the team's first goal of the series at the 16:40 mark, and Michael Kowalski landing another just over a minute later.

The third period went scoreless until just before the 16-minute mark when Luke Posthumus netted another for Penticton.

Okotoks answered back just 15 seconds later, with Kowalski scoring his second goal of the game, aided by Brock Souch and Ryder de Nys.

The Vees would have the final word, with an empty netter from Matthew Biotti cementing the 6-3 result.

Both teams will be right back at it on Wednesday, April 9, with Game 4 to be played in Okotoks with a 7 p.m. start.

If the Oilers can pull out a win, Game 5 would be played in Penticton on April 12.
