Whitecap Resources has kicked off the 14th annual Radiothon For Life with a major show of support—a $50,000 donation to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation.

The generous contribution marks the official start of the foundation’s fundraising campaign leading up to this year’s radiothon, which will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. The event will be broadcast live on Sun 102 FM, Country 106 FM, and CJ1150 AM.

“We are incredibly thankful for the donation from Whitecap Resources for our 14th annual Radiothon For Life campaign,” said Lori Gervais, Executive Director of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation. “Our radiothon will continue to support our MRI for Estevan fundraising campaign, and with this donation, we are off to a great start.”

This year’s radiothon will once again be hosted inside St. Joseph’s Hospital, in the Rotunda outside the Tom & Irma Cafeteria.

“We love hosting the day right in the centre of the hospital,” Gervais said. “That allows us to also include the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, as well as truly show off where the funds that are raised go.”

Community support for the campaign is already underway. Suds Zone Car Wash is hosting its second annual Wash-A-Thon, and A&W Estevan has launched a Teen Burger Tuesday initiative. Every Tuesday from April 22 to May 20, proceeds from Teen Burger sales at A&W Estevan will go toward the radiothon campaign.

Southern Plains Co-op will also be pitching in on Radiothon Day with a community barbecue. Lunch and supper will be served by donation at the hospital cafeteria, featuring hotdogs and hamburgers.

“Our Radiothon For Life is a huge fundraiser for us,” Gervais added. “With the MRI goal nearing, we are looking forward to adding more funds to our MRI Project Campaign.”

The Radiothon For Life is an annual event that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of vital medical equipment for St. Joseph’s Hospital.
