Envision Counselling and Support Centre announced the launch of their first annual Par for a Purpose Mental Health & Wellness Golf Tournament. The event is taking over the legacy of the long-standing Weyburn Travelodge Hotel Charity Golf Tournament which raised more than $400,000 for non-profit charities across southeast Saskatchewan in its 20 years.
Raven Daer, Communication Specialist with Envision, says they look forward to continuing with the guidance of the previous team.
“We have been so fortunate enough to take the reins on this with help and support from the previous team guiding us along the way. So, we have named this ‘Par for a Purpose’ and it is a mental health and wellness golf tournament. So, all of the proceeds will remain within our agency all across southeast Saskatchewan.”
She says they will also be relying heavily on the support of the community to ensure their success.
“We are planning to take this on indefinitely. So, this is our first annual one and we are really, really relying on the support of the community as we know that we do have wonderful supporters across our communities here in the southeast to really ensure that this is a success for us.”
All the money raised will stay within Envision and allow them to continue their programming and services.
“We provide trauma-informed counselling, support and education to individuals and families all across southeast Saskatchewan and our mission is to foster resilience, support healing and promote mental wellness through accessible and compassionate services.”
The event will be held on June 8th, however they are currently seeking sponsors on a variety of levels to make the event possible.
