The Souris-Moose Mountain Conservative Candidate, Steven Bonk held a meet and greet event Thursday evening at the Weyburn Travelodge.

Card-carrying party member Jay Stewart said he's not sure who else is running since this is the most conservative riding in the country.

"He's probably gonna get 75 to 80 percent of the popular vote in this riding. It doesn't matter. Wish we could take about 8,000 of our votes and put them in Ontario, but that's not how the election works."

"The reason I vote Conservative is I've got six kids, and what I'm seeing in the 20 to 30-year-olds is the failure to launch. They need a hand up here and the young people are voting Tory, which is a change from what usually happens. I've been a Tory in my whole life, but when you got 20s and early 30-somethings voting Tory, that's a difference. That's change. The baby boomers are apparently sticking with the Liberals and that's sad."

He said he's pretty sure all of his children are Conservative.

"they're not as active as I am. Maybe my son-in-law and my oldest daughter, and they're in Medicine Hat, and that's another, like one of the top five Conservative districts in the country. She's actually in Danielle Smith's riding."

While Stewart hadn't yet met Bonk before, he attended the meet and greet so he could shake his hand and show his support.

"I worked with someone related to him once upon a time, and I'd like to talk to him, but I understand he's busy. He's got a big district to try and take care of here."
