After having more than 17 pounds of fentanyl seized near Swift Current a few months ago, a duo of Calgary residents received a five-month adjournment earlier this week.

26-year-old Swati Narula and 28-year-old Kunwardeep Singh have had ongoing matters in court since being arrested on January 28 in a massive fentanyl bust that took place near Swift Current.

The accused each face one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Singh was granted bail on February 20 on a $25,000 bond, while Narula was released from custody on March 4 on a $10,000 cash bond.

Both individuals are subject to strict conditions and are not permitted any contact with each other.

The Alberta pair will next appear in Swift Current Provincial on September 9 for a preliminary hearing.
