BU faculty member nominated for Canada’s Top 25 Immigrants award

Finalists for the 2025 Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards have been announced, and a Brandon University (BU) professor is among the Top 75.
Dr. Aloysius C. Anyichie, an internationally recognized education psychology scholar, educator, and community leader, has been nominated for the Top 25 Canadian Immigrants Award.
This prestigious award recognizes remarkable Canadian immigrants whose inspiring stories, bold achievements, and meaningful impact are shaping communities and redefining success in their adopted homeland.
Dr. Anyichie’s work in education, social justice, and community services has transformed lives across the country. As an Associate Professor at Brandon University, his research focusing on supporting culturally diverse students’ engagement, motivation, and self-regulated learning is influencing teaching practices.
He is the founder of the Loy Excellentia Initiative, a mentorship program that supports African/Black students and professionals across Canada. His dedication to inclusion, social justice, equity, and academic excellence has earned him numerous national and international awards.
