Over the weekend, the Airdrie Home and Lifestyle Show had plenty of visitors learn more about and purchase from local businesses.
Marilyne Aalhus, Executive Director of the Airdrie Regional Chamber of Commerce, explained the two-day event was well attended.
"It was a fantastic weekend. We couldn't have asked for a better crowd Saturday and Sunday."
She mentioned that Saturday may have been a record-setting day with how many people attended.
"We had 1000s of attendees come out, the exhibitors (around 200) were sold out, and it was just a wonderful weekend to celebrate our region."
This year, the first ever Rising Stars Talent Show took place, with dancer Keela Dumont taking the first place prize of $250 and having an opportunity to perform at the Airdrie Regional Business Awards this fall.
"We took the stage with 10 participants. We had wonderful judges, It was not an easy job. We had wonderful participation and awarded the grand prize to Dumont."
The first 100 attendees to arrive early each day go in for free, and the first 250 attendees on both days received a swag bag full of goodies.
"There were so many smiling faces. Everyone seemed to be having fun, whether they were shopping local, planning for their renovations for summer or even just taking in the shows on the stage where we had lots of wonderful talent."
The annual show will be back again next year.
