Estevan Fire and Rescue responded to a series of emergency calls across the city last week, including a confirmed vehicle fire and multiple false alarms triggered by on-site work.
On April 7, just before noon, crews were dispatched to a commercial fire alarm in the north-central area. A duty officer determined the alarm had been triggered by on-site contractor work, and there was no emergency. Responding crews were stood down.
Shortly afterward, EFR was dispatched to a two-vehicle collision in the same area. The incident was deemed minor and did not require fire department assistance.
On April 8 around 3 p.m., crews responded to another commercial fire alarm, this time in the northeast area. The alarm was also caused by work being done on-site. Responding crews were stood down, while a duty officer remained to confirm the situation and reset the alarm panel.
On April 11 at approximately 1:30 p.m., crews responded to a vehicle fire in the southeast area. A working fire was confirmed on arrival. The blaze was quickly extinguished, with no injuries reported. Damage was contained to the vehicle, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
