Instead of athletes having to drive a long distance, the Sask Selects Football Program is bringing their camps to the players for 2025.
Throughout May, June, and July, the Sask Selects will hold camps in 11 locations: Saskatoon, Regina, Medicine Hat, Weyburn, Estevan, Lloydminster, Meadow Lake, Moosomin, Melville, Outlook, and Swift Current.
"Everybody kind of overlooks those smaller communities, so we're going to make a concerted effort to go and find those diamonds in the rough," said Coach Zeljko of the Sask Selects.
Players will learn new skills and refine old ones as the Sask Selects will also recruit players for their 2025-2026 campaign. The main focus of the program is developing young football players both physically and mentally.
"It's not an all-star team. We select a bunch of kids that want to be part of this, are going to be there every weekend grinding with us, and want to learn. That's the biggest part," stated Zeljko.
