The Estevan Extreme 13U Girls wrapped up their volleyball season this past weekend with a strong showing at the Volleyball Saskatchewan Provincials in Regina.
Competing in Division 1—the highest tier of play—the team faced off against some of the top 13U teams from across the province and held their own every step of the way.
Pool play began with back-to-back three-set battles against Regina Summit Red and the CVVC Aces. Though the Extreme came up just short in both matches, they bounced back with a confident straight-set win over Blitz Thunder.
A tough loss to Watrous followed, which placed Estevan fourth in their pool and matched them up against the Sundogs Elite in the opening playoff round. It was another tightly contested three-set match that saw the Extreme narrowly edged out 16-14 in the third.
Refusing to back down, the team dug deep in the consolation bracket. They defeated Humboldt Chaos in straight sets, then avenged their earlier loss with a gutsy three-set win over Watrous to secure seventh place overall in Division 1.
The tournament capped off a season filled with growth, determination, and team spirit—qualities the Estevan Extreme 13U Girls showed in every match they played.
