A tense situation unfolded in Dauphin on Sunday when RCMP responded to a report of a firearm threat in a residential area. The incident, which occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Ida Street, led to the arrest of two teenagers and the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal drugs.

Police say a 17-year-old allegedly pointed a firearm at a 23-year-old woman before fleeing the scene. Officers arrived quickly and launched a search for the suspect. He was found and arrested shortly afterward. A 16-year-old was also taken into custody as part of the investigation.

A search of the two suspects revealed over 130 grams of methamphetamine, more than 13 grams combined of cocaine and crack cocaine, 17 Zopiclone pills, and money. The drugs have an estimated street value of over $27,000.

Despite efforts from officers and RCMP Police Service Dog Marook, the firearm has not yet been recovered.

The 17-year-old, who is from Ebb and Flow First Nation, faces several weapons and drug trafficking charges and remains in custody.

The 16-year-old, from Dauphin, has been charged with drug trafficking. She has been released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

According to RCMP, the investigation is ongoing.
