Alberta Health Services is notifying the public of a confirmed case of measles in the Calgary Zone.
The Calgary Zone includes the City of Calgary and surrounding regions including Okotoks and High River, spanning as far south as Claresholm and Didsbury to the north.
According to the AHS advisory, there were potential exposures in the Calgary, Banff, and Canmore areas between April 6 and 11.
The possible exposure locations and times are as follows:

Calgary – Delmar College of Hair and Esthetics

Exposure time period: Approx. 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.April 11, 2025
Banff – Lux Cinema
229 Bear St. Banff AB
Exposure time period: 4 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.April 11, 2025
Banff – Fairmont Banff Springs – Bowl Valley Five Pin & Pints
405 Spray Ave. Banff AB
Exposure time period: 6:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.
AHS advises that anyone who was in those locations at those times who was born after 1970 with less than two doses of the measles vaccine is at risk of developing measles themselves, and they're encouraged to monitor for symptoms.
Symptoms to watch out for include a fever of 38.3° C or higher, a cough, runny nose and/or red eyes, and a rash that appears three to seven days after a fever.
Anyone experiencing measles symptoms is advised to stay home and call Health Link at 811.
As of April 15, there are 77 cases of measles in Alberta, with four of them being in the Calgary Zone.
