Diamond Valley Fire Rescue is again reminding motorists to slow down when passing emergency vehicles and roadside workers.
While responding to a vehicle fire on Highway 7 on Tuesday, April 15, Diamond Valley firefighters noticed several vehicles speeding past without slowing down.
As per provincial law, drivers must slow to 60 km/h when passing stopped vehicles with flashing lights, or move over to the far lane, if it's safe to do so.
It applies to any vehicles with flashing lights, including ambulances, fire engines, tow trucks, and maintenance vehicles.
This is the second reminder from Diamond Valley Fire Rescue this year, as they posted a similar reminder in January after drivers sped past first responders attending a collision on Highway 7.
