Rain is expected to develop Saturday, followed by a chance of flurries overnight as the temperature drops to –1 C. Cloudy conditions are forecast for Sunday and Monday, with highs of 6 to 8 C and a 60 per cent chance of rain or snow on both days. Overnight lows through the long weekend are expected to remain below freezing.

Snowfall warnings were issued Wednesday for parts of southwestern Alberta, including Cardston County, the Crowsnest Pass, Kananaskis, Pincher Creek and the MD of Ranchland. Environment Canada says total accumulations in those areas could reach up to 10 centimetres.

The Farmers’ Almanac also predicts a "wet Easter Sunday with showers" across Alberta and the Prairie region.
