Margaret Elizabeth (née Buckle) Haynes
November 25, 1941 – April 14, 2025
Margaret Elizabeth (née Buckell) Haynes was born on November 25, 1941, in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, to Raymond and Elizabeth (née Downes) Buckell. She married Tom Haynes on November 16, 1957, at Bredenbury, SK. The couple traveled throughout Saskatchewan to work on the rigs before settling in Lanigan, SK. Margaret and Tom remained married for 58 years and had three children: Laverne, Pam, and Darrell. They resided in Lanigan for 47 years, where Margaret worked as a bus driver for many years. She was also an active member of the Knox United Church in Lanigan and dedicated numerous hours volunteering at the church. Margaret and Tom enjoyed traveling throughout Canada and the United States while Tom's health permitted. Margaret had a passion for gardening and card games, and she always anticipated visits from family and friends. When Margaret required additional support, she relocated to Manitou Lodge in Watrous to be nearer to her daughter. Margaret will be greatly missed by: her three children: Laverne Haynes of Beauvallion, AB; Pam (Larry) Caron of Drake, SK; and Darrell Haynes of Calgary, AB; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters: Shirley (Ford) Davis and Doreen (Mel) Hicks. She was predeceased by her parents Ray and ‘Bessie’ Buckell; brother Wayne Buckell; and sister Caroline Svenbjorson. Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 2:00 pm, Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, SK, celebrated by Bev Trach. Urn bearer was Larry Caron; and honorary pallbearers were Laverne Haynes, Pam and Larry Caron, and Darrell Haynes. Memorial friendship and refreshments were provided at Pioneer Hotel Basement Banquet Room. Memorial donations may be directed to Manitou Lodge (PO Box: 130, Watrous, S0K 4T0).
