Jury selection is now underway in the trial of five former Canadian world junior hockey players, including former U15 AAA Airdrie Xtreme player Dillon Dubé, accused in a 2018 sexual assault case.

The proceedings are taking place in London, Ont, where Dubé appeared in pretrial hearings last November alongside co-accused Michael McLeod, Alex Formenton, Carter Hart, and Cal Foote.

Each of the accused faces one count of sexual assault, with McLeod facing an additional charge. A publication ban remains in place, restricting details about the complainant and witnesses.

Superior Court Justice Maria Carroccia is presiding over the trial, which is expected to continue for several weeks. All five men have indicated plans to plead not guilty.

Dubé, who was drafted by the Calgary Flames in 2016, is reported to be playing for Dinamo Minsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
