This week’s Adorable Adoptable is Puck, a shy sweetheart with a heart full of potential and a tail that’s learning to wag a little more each day.
When Puck first arrived at the shelter, the hustle and bustle left him feeling lost and unsure.
“He was really a scared little guy,” says Robyn Roy, communications co-ordinator with the Cochrane & Area Humane Society.
Staff gave him space, time and a whole lot of patience and little by little, Puck began to bloom.

He’s no longer hiding away. Puck has been exploring new things, including a walk through downtown Cochrane and even his first pup cup.
“Rite of passage, right?” Roy laughs.
Though he shares a name with Shakespeare’s mischievous sprite, this Puck is more soft soul than trickster.
He’s about a year old, a mixed breed, and what Roy calls “an athletic little dude.”
“He’s kind of past the puppy phase, but still a really young pup,” she says.
Puck thrives in calm settings, and he’ll do best in a quiet, adult-only home, especially one with a doggy friend to help him feel secure.
“He asks that you meet him a few times before bringing him home,” Roy says. “Settling in is much easier when he knows he can rely on his people.”

Puck is currently staying with a foster family. To meet him, contact the adoption team at 403-932-2072 ext. 113 or e-mail adoptions@cochranehumane.ca.
