Archibald "Archie" Henry Nordick
May 19, 1938 - April 18, 2025

With great sadness, the family of Archibald "Archie" Henry Nordick, aged 86, announce he passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, at Quill Plains Centennial Lodge, Watson, Saskatchewan. He was born on May 19, 1938, to John Henry and Elizabeth (nee Speed) Nordick and was the fifth of nine children in their family. He was raised on the family farm and attended Englefeld School. After completing his education, Archie assisted his father with farming operations and worked at Schulte Industries. During the winters of 1956-1958, he gained additional experience by working in British Columbia and southern Saskatchewan. After, he returned to manage the family farm. In 1960, Archie met the love of his life, Irene Henderson, and they were united in marriage on July 7, 1962, in Englefeld Together, they established a nurturing family environment, raising four children while actively managing the Nordick family farm. Archie committed himself to grain farming, demonstrating exceptional dedication and passion in his pursuits. Apart from his farming activities, Archie enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially at Greenwater Lake, which he frequently referred to as his ideal retreat. Additionally, Archie was an active member of the Watson-Englefeld Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation. In 1993, Archie and Irene decided to relocate from the farm to the town of Watson, marking the beginning of a new phase in their lives. Archie remained there until February 2024, when his declining health necessitated additional support. Archie is survived by his loving wife, Irene; children: Pam (Al) MacDonald and family, Ryan (Tina) MacDonald- Olivia, Danika, Deklan, and Shauna (Jenna) MacDonald; Darren (Joanne) Nordick; Cheryl (Brent) Ronvel and family, Taylor (Brianne) Ronvel - Regan, Kylie, Jayde (Greg) Silzer - Tatum, and Carter Ronvel; Murray (Natelle) Nordick and family, Cody (Amy)Nordick, and Zachary Nordick; brothers: Donald and Wayne, and sister Janet McKay. He was predeceased by his grandson, Spencer; parents, John Henry and Elizabeth; brothers James and Roger; and sisters Madeline Stoeher, Eileen Steiner, and Marjorie Coates. As per Archie’s request no service will be held. A private internment at the Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery, Watson, SK will be at a later date. Donations in Archie’s name may be directed to Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund (PO Box 261, Englefeld, SK, S0K 1N0) or Quill Plains Centennial Lodge (c/o Quill Plains Healthcare Foundation, PO Box 227, Watson, SK, S0K 4V0.) The family would like to thank Dr. O and the entire staff at Quill Plains Centennial Lodge for the excellent care Archie received.
