A two-vehicle collision occurred last Wednesday at the intersection of Railway Avenue and Government Road. The Weyburn Police Service responded to the incident; Deputy Police Chief Shane St. John reports no injuries.

“No injuries, but both vehicles did need to be towed from the scene, and one person was charged for proceeding from a stop sign before it's safe to do so.”

In the event of a minor accident, St. John says either 9-1-1 or the local police number can be used to reach emergency responders. However, 9-1-1 will get the needed services dispatched faster.

“With an accident, sometimes it's easier to call 911, because it's really quick and it'll get through right away, but either or. Instead of looking up our number, you can always call 911 and then that can make sure EMS is on the way as well as police and fire."

In total the Weyburn Police Service responded to 103 calls for service between April 14th to 20th. A total of 21 charges were laid with 11 under the Criminal Code of Canada, 19 under the Traffic Safety Act, and one under the Summary Offences Procedure Act.
