The Weyburn Police Service saw a swift theft investigation last Sunday after receiving a report of a truck stolen from outside a residence. The vehicle was then reported to be located still within Weyburn.

Through investigation, police were able to locate the truck and the suspect soon after. They were arrested and charged for possession of stolen property. Deputy Police Chief Shane St. John explains other charges were involved as well.

“He was on conditions, out past curfew, on a probation order, so a lot of things going on and he was remanded for court.”

He appeared in court earlier this week.

In total, the Weyburn Police Service responded to 103 calls for service with 21 charges resulting. Of these charges 11 were under the Criminal Code of Canada, 19 under the Traffic Safety Act, and one under the Summary Offences Procedure Act.
