Cochranite Sarah Leete will be taking people on an alphabetical tour through the Northwest Passage, Greenland, and Newfoundland in her Wednesday, April 30 evening presentation at the Cochrane Public Library. The inside of her Adventure Canada jacket from the adventure coins the Newfoundlanders saying, “Long may your big jib draw.”

In February, Sarah Leete captivated a crowd at the Seniors on the Bow with her alphabetical journey through the Northwest Passage to Greenland.

By popular demand, the presentation will be held again on April 30 at the Cochrane Municipal Library.

Some of the insights she's sharing have now become part of the news cycle.

"The trip was made before Rumpy Pumpy was elected president, and now Greenland in particular is very much in the news as a result of his extraordinary machinations," says Leete, known for her tongue-in-check humour.

"Plus, the Hudson Bay Co is also in the news and as the cynics up north of 60 say HBC means 'Here Before Christ'."

You'll also learn the key difference between caribou and reindeer, as explained to her by a Greenlandic woman aboard the Ocean Endeavour.

"She should know," says Leete. "She was prime minister of Greenland for some years," says Leete.

The Fireside Chat takes place at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 30. Refreshments will be served.
