The Estevan City Council approved a series of tenders during their recent meeting, following the recommendations from the Public Works Manager.

The first tender was for traffic paint, with Sherwin-Williams awarded the contract for their Pro Mar Line product at a cost of $39,951.85. Councillor Shelly Veroba made the motion, seconded by Councillor Kirsten Walliser, noting that Sherwin-Williams was the most cost-effective option within the 2025 budget and had demonstrated adequate longevity in previous years. The motion passed unanimously.

Next, the council discussed the tender for dust control. Walliser made the motion, seconded by Veroba, to continue with Fort Distributors at a rate of $0.39 per litre, for a total estimated cost of $128,700. Walliser emphasized that Fort Distributors was again the most cost-effective option, and the budget would cover the possibility of a third application of dust control where needed. The motion was carried unanimously.

Lastly, the council awarded the tender for three-quarters inch minus gravel to Genco for $86,695. This gravel will be used for various tasks, including gravelling roads and backfill for water breaks. Veroba made the motion, seconded by Walliser, stating that Genco’s bid was the most cost-effective within the 2025 budget. The motion passed unanimously.

All tenders were approved without objections, ensuring the city remains on track with its planned infrastructure and maintenance projects for the year.
