Conservative Blake Richards is projected to win a landslide victory in the Airdrie-Cochrane constituency.

With 71 per cent of polls reporting, Richards held a commanding 16,000-vote lead, capturing over 72 per cent of the vote. Liberal candidate Sean Secord was running second with 22.5 per cent, New Democrat Sarah Zagoda was a distant third with 3.8 per cent, and Libertarian David Sabine and Christian Bell each had less than one per cent of the vote.

Indications are it’s a huge comeback for Richards, who increased his share of the popular vote by 15 per cent from the 2021 election. Except that one dip, Richards has typically won over 70 per cent of the vote in his previous election bids.

Conservative William Stevenson is projected to be the winner in the Yellowhead riding that includes much of Cochrane's surrounding area.
