Six per cent more people voted in the federal election in the Airdrie–Cochrane riding than in the former Banff–Airdrie riding in 2021.

Preliminary results from Elections Canada show a voter turnout of 74.92 per cent. A total of 70,560 ballots were cast from a registered voters list of 94,181. That figure does not include those who registered on election day.

In the 2021 federal election, Banff–Airdrie recorded a 68.8 per cent turnout.

The most recent results of the April 28 election indicate incumbent Blake Richards secured 71.2 per cent of the vote.

  • Sean Secord Liberal 16,714 votes - 23.7 %

  • Sarah Zagoda NDP 2,591 votes - 3.7 %

  • David Sabine Libertarian 623 votes - 0.9 %

  • Christopher Bell Christian Heritage Party 380 votes - 0.5 %

Yesterday, Elections Canada released preliminary estimates indicating 19,583,016 Canadians cast a ballot, translating into a voter turnout rate of about 68.65 per cent.
