If you've noticed that the water level on the Highwood River is a bit low, you'd be right.
The Town of High River is paying attention too, and they reached out to Rivers Alberta and confirmed that we are experiencing low flow conditions.
This won't affect residents yet, and according to the Outdoor Water Use and Restrictions Bylaw, we're not there yet.
The Town is currently sitting at the 'Normal Water Use' restriction, which means you can use sprinklers twice per week. However, this could change quickly, and the Town will update everyone when it's warranted.
Starting in just over a week, the Town will be sharing regular river monitoring updates on a weekly, if not daily basis, if conditions change.
The week of May 10 also kicks off Emergency Preparedness Week.
