Wey-Clean week is back! From May 5th to 9th, the City of Weyburn is inviting the community to roll up their sleeves and help clean up litter around the city.

Each day of the week will focus on a different area: Monday – Area 4 and citywide; Tuesday – Area 5; Wednesday – Area 1; Thursday – Area 2; and Friday – Area 3 and downtown. Find a map of the zones HERE.

A few changes have been made for this year to make the week more efficient. The garbage collection schedule has been updated to match the City's garbage collection zones.

No roll-off bins will be located around the city this year. Instead, residents are asked to use their household bins for garbage and recycling. Small items can be tossed in public garbage cans when cleaning parks or city-owned property. Neighbours are encouraged to share bin space when possible, and all residents are asked to sort and recycle whenever they can.

Anyone planning a larger cleanup effort can contact the City of Weyburn to coordinate garbage pickup.

Free supplies are available; gloves and garbage bags can be picked up at City Hall or delivered. Contact the Engineering Department at (306) 848-3221 or by emailing kpaul@weyburn.ca to get involved.

Please do not pick up hazardous waste or sharp objects like needles. Instead, contact the Weyburn Fire Department at (306) 848-3240 for safe removal.

Show off your community pride as you help make Weyburn a cleaner place; share your cleanup efforts by tagging @cityofweyburn and using #weycleanweek on social media.
