It continues to be a busy wildfire season for Foothills-area fire departments.

Diamond Valley Fire Rescue responded to a large grass fire on Saturday, May 3.

According to a Facebook post from the fire department, it broke out on 144 St. West, though crews didn't initially know the location.

Personnel were sent to a few areas in the region before locating the fire.

During the response, they received a call about what was thought to be a second fire, but was actually the same one just reported from a few kilometres away.

The fire department is reminding residents of the extremely dry conditions, which have kept area departments busy with outdoor fire responses.

Foothills County is under a fire advisory, which was declared on April 25.
