A candlelight vigil is being held in Okotoks on Monday (May 5) evening to honour the victims of the Lapu-Lapu Day festival tragedy in Vancouver on April 26.
It's being held at the Old Towne Plaza at 7 p.m.
"This moment of remembrance goes beyond just Okotoks — it’s about standing together as Canadians, as Filipinos, as human beings. No matter where we are, love and solidarity know no borders. Let us gather to shine a light in the darkness and remind those affected that they are not alone," reads the Facebook page for the event.
The April 26 tragedy saw 11 people killed and over 20 injured when an SUV drove into a crowd of people at the annual cultural festival.
