Nelda Mary (née Ebert) Braun
September 1, 1926 – May 3, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Nelda Mary (née Ebert) Braun announce her sudden passing on May 3, 2025. She was 98 years of age. Nelda was born on September 1, 1926, to George and Hilda Ebert. After finishing Grade 8, she was hired to do domestic work at various homes in the area. She went on to work at Palm Dairies in Saskatoon, SK and then travelled to Victoria BC and worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital. In 1948 Nelda married Aurelius ‘Buddy’ Braun and began her life living on a farm near Annaheim, SK. Much of her life was dedicated to the farm, family, and community service. Nelda and Buddy retired in 1983 and moved to Humboldt. This is when the couple went to many vacation destinations. Nelda was a kind, compassionate, loving woman, whose greatest joy was having her family close, and her faith was strong and unwavering. Nelda is survived by: her children – Russell, Murray (Linda Boire), Bob (Joan Lindberg), Diane (Jan Pulvermacher), Glen (Donna Nieman), and Pat (Phil Gerwing); fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, SK on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm, celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy. Others taking part were: Nick Braun, cross bearer; Nicole Braun and Char Pulvermacher, scripture readers; Mike Braun & Erin Bernhard, intentions; Mason Strueby & Kaylee Bernhard, gift bearers; Allison Busa & Megan Hale, memorial table attendants; Chris Braun, urn bearer; and Glen Braun, eulogist. Music Ministry was provided by St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir and inurnment was at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Columbarium, Humboldt. Following, a memorial luncheon was held at St. Augustine Parish Hall.
